Children's Minister

New Highland Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, VA., is seeking a part time Children’s Minister.  The purpose for this position is to develop and implement effective programs and activities from the ground up that will minister to families and children in the community and thereby expand other areas of the church. The programs should be age-appropriate, fun, relevant, and effective in instructing, training, nurturing and launching children into Christian service.  Examples of such programs are: Children’s Life Groups, Children’s’ Church, VBS, recreational activities, and Children’s Easter and Christmas events.

The candidate must have a passion for children, an overwhelming desire to witness the love of Jesus Christ, and must demonstrate biblical character. The ideal candidate will have experience with various age ranges and the ability to relate to and communicate the Word of God to children, and their parents. They should have the ability to develop children’s ministry teams and delegate responsibilities to execute programs and activities. A ministry-related bachelor’s degree is not mandatory; however, related experience is required.

Additional duties will require the management of the budget for all children’s programs, assist the Pastor as needed, and participate in the life of the Church.

The salary and hours for this position are negotiable.
