Giving back to God is an act of worship. When you think about it, all that we have was provided for us by our Creator. To give back a portion of what we have been given is the very least we can do. When you give to our church you are supporting many ministries. Yes, a majority goes to the day-to-day expenses of our church, but we give money to our state convention and both national conventions, as well as our local association. Our money is used by these groups to continue to take the message of Jesus to the world.

Personally, I don't think God is looking for a percentage of our income, but He wants us to give our best - the very best that we can - as illustrated in the Old Testament story of Cain and Abel. Abel gave God his best and his brother did not. God blessed Abel's gift and rejected the gift of Cain.
